A Message from the Mayor...
“Spring has
sprung” in Turbeville in a mighty bold and
beautiful way. With the blooming of the
dogwoods, azaleas, iris, and daffodils our citizens anticipate the
annual “Puddin
Swamp Festival” and the opening of the “Screen on the
Green” season.
This
year’s “3rd Annual Puddin Swamp Festival”
was nothing less than spectacular. With
perfect
weather, thrilling carnival rides, fun games, exhibitors, artisans,
singers,
and musicians thousands were treated to a phenomenal array of
breathtaking
hours of fun, food and fellowship. And all of this took place on our
newly
remodeled town square. Many thanks to
the Turbeville Community Association and all who worked incessantly to
make
this year’s event truly a wonderful experience in the life and
history of our
town.
Of
course,
the 3rd season of “Screen on the Green”
will be just as much fun. What more
could one ask for than a free movie, shared with friends and family,
under the
starlit canopy of the heavens. This
year’s lineup proves to be one of fun for the whole family. So I trust you will come out to town square
at dusk on the 1st Saturday of the month in June, August,
October
and the 2nd Saturday of May, July and September to enjoy our
FREE
movie.
So,
as you
can see many good things are happening in
Turbeville. Come join us for a wonderful
time in a beautiful spot on God’s green earth and see for
yourself why Turbeville
truly is “a great place to live, work, play, grow and do
business.”
Virginia
J.
“Ginie”
Turbeville,
Mayor
